Your life has PURPOSE.  Your story is IMPORTANT. Your dreams COUNT. Your voice MATTERS. You were born to make an IMPACT!

The things that happen when bright, young, like-minded leaders from the community all come together for a pow wow are truly amazing.  Wednesday’s (2/17/2016) regional ambassador get together for lululemon athletica was an eye opening experience to say the least.

I [Jesse, here] attended the lulu meeting not really knowing what to expect and left feeling excited, humbled and honored.  Crystal and I were recently asked to be lululemon ambassadors for the Portland, Maine store [as Crystal puts it, a little bit like a dream come true]. So what does that mean? Prior to our meeting, I had no idea. What I did know: I absolutely L O V E their clothing, and I was extremely grateful for this experience and the things that seem to be piecing themselves into place. Outside of the most comfortable sweatpants EVER and gratefulness, I had no idea what being an ambassador would come to entail and I didn’t know |too| much about the company.

I learned a long time ago that you are the sum of the five people you choose to surround yourself with daily.  Throughout my life, I’ve chosen wisely and its brought me great riches.  I’ve also chosen poorly and it’s brought me to my lowest lows. I can tell you this much, from the second I walked into Play Yogo Studio, where the event was being held, I knew I was surrounded by the right type[s] of people.

Vibrant smiles and raw energy filled the room.  We connected through introductions and the source of raw energy became crystal clear. The room was filled with amazing stories – former Olympians, a young woman who successfully just completed 7 marathons, in 7 days, on 7 continents, physique competitors, Crossfit games champions, Managers of lululemon stores, owners of very successful businesses and all around genuine, passionate, people.  Yes, friends, when people like this come together and you are lucky enough to be in the mix, you definitely know you are in the right place.

So what does being an ambassador mean…?  lululemon is MUCH more than just an amazing clothing line.  They are a company founded on passion and full of bright, young leaders throughout the world that make it their mission to serve and give to others.

The philosophy is to support you and your endeavors in any way possible without expectation.  Isn’t this simply amazing?  STOP and really think about this for a minute.

How many companies or even people do we know that exude this type of presence? That give with no expectation of return…?

Being an ambassador has some pretty out of this world benefits and perks – but, it also has something more. It has life changing energy.

I left this meeting more grounded, focused and a better human being.  I was able to connect with people that see the bigger picture, that believe anything is possible and that give with an open heart [all qualities I take pride in and strive for myself]. These people [better known as friends], have a vision in life, a purpose to change the world, and they recognize the very real life struggles that arise with dream big intentions. Some have made many mistakes, they’ve battled with the fear of failure, they’ve failed, but they’ve NEVER GIVEN UP. This is where the amazing comes from.

It was a breath of fresh air to share stories, to soak it up, to let it sink in.  It was the reminder that everything we are doing is okay [and, badass and awesome].. There are others that get it and are doing the same thing – kicking, clawing and fighting for what they believe in – setting a mark to do what they love. The stories teach you to open your mind and live in vulnerability, knowing that at the end of the day, the only one that needs to understand the crazy and be happy is YOU.  You DON’T need to live to impress others, you DON’T need outside approval, YOU just need to choose HAPPINESS [whatever that means to you].

So what does it mean to be an ambassador? 

It means to become self aware, to live in the present, the be fully immersed in life. 

In a matter of hours, perspective awakened. I felt special. I felt thoughtful and reflective [I thought about my life and all the good and the bad and remembered that it is all in the past.]  It made me realize that I do have many talents. It made me realize there are still PLENTY of amazing people in the world ready to fill your life with support and love and be your #1 cheerleaders all the way to the top.
